Concert: The Schilke Five
Osamu Takahashi is a Japanese trumpet player who was began the principal player of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 1999. before that, he was an assistant principal of the Shinsei Nihon Symphony Orchestra. He graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. In 1996 he was awarded First Prize at the 65th Music Competition of Japan and also First Prize at the 13th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. He regularly participates in Miyazaki International Music Festival, Kirishima International Music Festival, Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival (Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto), Hofu Music Festival, etc. He is the music director of the Golden Brass Japan Festival at Port of Moji in 2016. He is a jury at the 67th Munich ARD International Music Competition 2018. He is a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Brass Quintet, Nagisa Brass Solisten, The Schilke Five, Trumpet Ensemble “THE MOST”, Tokyo Mitaka Philharmonia, and the Hareta-umi-no Orchestra. He has recorded many solo albums and chamber music. He is a visiting professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and a lecturer at Tokyo College of Music.
