Originally from Cuanalán Acolman Edo de México, Omar Sánchez started playing trumpet at age 6 under the tutelage of his father, Efrén Sánchez Rivero. He entered the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico taking trumpet lessons with Professor José Oviedo Rodríguez, until 2007.

He has taken several training courses with different teachers such as Jin Vasallo, Uwe Koller, Frits Damrow and Pierre Dutot among others. In 2010, he recorded his first album entitled “Serenata Mexicana”, accompanied by a symphonic band. He has been invited to several national and international meetings; In 2011, he was invited to offer a trumpet recital at the “4th International Trumpet Meeting RAFAEL MENDEZ,” the most important trumpet festival in the country; Other trumpeters also having participated included teachers Arturo Sandoval, Otto Sauter, and David Hickman, who are considered some of the best trumpeters in the world. In his short trajectory, Omar Sánchez has worked with several Symphonic Orchestras in the country, and has participated in several events as a soloist in different corners of the republic and abroad.

He is currently the principal trumpet of the Acapulco Philharmonic Orchestra, and is part of the YAMAHA family.
