Michael Delaune

Session: The Progression of Trumpet Through Military Music (1500 – Present)

Sergeant First Class Michael Delaune, from Houma, LA joined the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps in 2005 as a bugler after serving a year and a half with the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Band at Fort Monroe, VA. At the TRADOC Band, he was principal trumpet, member of the brass quintet, and featured soloist with the band. Delaune received a Bachelor of Music from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2000 and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music in 2002. His teachers include Vince Penzarella, Tom Smith, and Allan Cox. He has performed with the Prince William Symphony Orchestra, Manassas Symphony Orchestra, Dominion Brass, Fountain City Brass Band, and currently plays soprano cornet with Brass of the Potomac.
