Larry Powell is an S.E. Shires & Eastman Winds Performing Artist. He has served as Trumpet Instructor/Adjunct at the University of Indianapolis since 2007, and he is the creator, host, and producer of the studioHFL podcast.

Larry earned a B.S. in Music Education from the University of Indianapolis, and a M.M. in Performance from Butler University. He received his Suzuki Trumpet Instructor certification in 2021.

He currently serves as Principal Trumpet with the Owensboro Symphony in Kentucky, and Anderson Symphony, Muncie Symphony, and the Marion Philharmonic, all in Indiana. He has also performed with the Indianapolis Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Evansville Philharmonic, the South Bend Symphony, and Orchestra Kentucky. He is also an active recording studio musician.

He has studied with Vincent DiMartino, Dan Gosling, Marvin Perry, Bobby Shew, and Roger Ingram.

Larry is also the conference director of the Indiana ITG Chapter Conferences.
