Session: Recovering from Neck Injuries Induced by Playing a Wind Instrument Incorrectly (with Dean McNeill)
Dr. Jeffrey Harris began his training at The University of Alberta, Music Performance program, and then completed medical school and a residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Subspecialty fellowship training in Advanced Head and Neck Oncology and Reconstruction was pursued at The Mount Sinai Hospital New York and, having completed his training, Dr. Harris returned to the University of Alberta as a Professor of Surgery and Oncology.
Dr. Harris has over 100 peer-reviewed publications, has written numerous book chapters, and has co-authored a standard textbook on Head and Neck reconstruction. He has been featured on local and national TV and radio, and has been widely recognized for his teaching, research and administrative contributions.
On a more personal note, Dr. Harris is married and the father of two children. In addition to his medical practice he continues with his music career as a jazz musician with an active performance schedule.
