Lecture Recital: Repertorio contemporáneo del Perú
Professor at the National University of Music (Lima, Peru) and Principal trumpet with the National Symphony Orchestra, Franco Carranza has performed alongside Paquito D´Rivera, Sting, Andrea Bocceli, Joshua Bell, Canadian Brass, and Juan Diego Flores across Latin America.
An alumnus of The Orchestra of the Americas (2005-2012), in 2006 he won a scholarship from The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, where he studied with the members of the Canadian Brass ensemble and with Paul Merkelo, the principal trumpet of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
He is the founder of MusiKallpa, a training platform for young musicians in Peru, featuring internationally renowned guest Faculty including Edward Carroll, Paul Merkelo, Gabrielle Cassone, Flavio Gabriel, Warren Declaration, Gail Williams , Abbie Conant, and more.
Franco Carranza has been named Young Artist of the Year in 2012 by the Hildegard Behrens Foundation. A prizewinner at the 2014 Eric Aubier Trumpet Competition, Franco Carranza is also a Yamaha Artist since 2015.
