Don Johnson III

Dr.  Don Johnson III is an adjunct instructor at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and is a freelance musician in the Cincinnati area. He has performed and recorded with numerous ensembles across the US including the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Acadiana Symphony, the Dallas Winds, the Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.

 In addition to recording with Kentucky Baroque Trumpets, Don III can also be heard on recordings with Newberry’s Victorian Cornet Band, Sonitus Clarissima, President Lincoln’s Own Band, and the Lone Star Wind Orchestra.

Don III received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in trumpet performance at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where he was a graduate assistant for the Department of Wind Studies. He received his Bachelor’s of Music Performance at the University of Louisville and completed his Master’s in Music at Louisiana State University.
