Recital: Old/New, Romantic/Dramatic!

Dominique has built up a busy life as concert performer, which has taken him throughout Europe. He is also frequently sought-after replacement as principal trumpet in various European orchestras in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Nederland, Germany, Scandinavia … In 2013 he was asking to be principal trumpet for European tour with Film music composer Ennio Morricone.

Furthermore, he has taken an interest in the practice of ancient instruments. It is in this field he has been a pupil of Friedman Immer at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. He is now a specialist of playing Bach Oratorios as principal trumpet on period instruments. He is principal barock trumpet with Millenium Orchestra under the baton of Leornardo Garcia Alarcon.

In 1999, Dominique Bodart released his first CD ”Virayana’’in collaboration with the Luxembourg organist Carlo Hommel and including the 20th century pieces for trumpet and organ. In 2002 he released his second CD trumpet and organ “Si suoni la tromba”with the French organist Michael Parisot (Baroque and Classical works). Then follow “Bouquet of melodies” as a soloist with the Brass Band Buizingen, “in the groove” with the Big Band Academy Eghezée (Tribute to Harry James) and a new CD together with Adam Rapa and Big Band Academy Eghezée. Soon he will record a new solo CD with the Famous Spanish Brass.

Dominique Bodart was Permanent Alternating-Principal Trumpet in Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland from 2008 to 2011.

Dominique Bodart is Artistic Director of the International Trumpet Competition ‘Théo Charlier” and Artistic Director of the International Music Festival in Abruzzo (Italy). He is Actually Teacher and Artistic Director of “International Brass Studio” in Belgium.

Since 2014, Dominique Bodart creates the Namur Wallonia Brass Band which is the first high level Brass Band Francophone of Belgium. They recorded a new CD with International Trombone Soloist Jacques Mauger and the new trombone concerto “Journey” of Peter Meechaan (UK).

In November 2014 he was invited as jury member for the International Brass competition in Gdansk (Poland). In August 2015 he was invited as jury member at the Jeju International Trumpet Competition and had to play 3 soloist concerts. He was jury member at the European trumpet competition in Alençon (France November 2016).

Many composers are writing for Dominique Bodart: Peer Baierlein (D), Eric Bettens (B), Stan Nieuwenhuis (B) and Rossano Galante (USA)…

In December 2016 he had to replace as soloist for the “festival de Wallonie”, the famous French trumpeter Eric Aubier with the Arvo Part piccolo Concert uber B-A-C-H and had to lurn it in only a few days.
