Angel Sánchez Lopez
Recital: Homenaje a Rafael Méndez desde su tierra, Michoacán con Eduardo Chacón y Juan Antonio Santoyo Ángel Aarón Sánchez López, better known as Yuca Sanz, was born on October 31, 2001 in Michoacán, México.
At the age of 9 he began to play the trumpet in the band that his mother Martha Alicia López formed because, due to his age, no band allowed him to enter. At the age of 12 he meets Alex Freund at the Conservatorio de las Rosas in Morelia, Michoacán, which was his teacher for 5 years. He has been the winner of the international trumpet contest “the sound of Mexico”, the Cancun International Music Competition and the Galileo Dolce MyMaster Trumpet Competition.
He has performed concerts throughout the Mexican territory and also in Guatemala, Argentina, Spain, Colombia and in the Canary Islands. Yuca has taken classes with Giuliano Sommerhalder, Rubén Simeó, Pacho Flores, Sergei Nakariakov, Manuel Blanco, James Ackley, Mark David, among others. He is currently a student at the Costa Rican trumpet academy with maestro Alexis Morales Barrientos
