Second latin trumpet player in the history who complete his master degree with Reinhold Friedrich and recently became the first graduate student of the Master in Trumpet of the “Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía” in Spain, under the tutelage of the masters Reinhold Friedrich and Manuel Blanco. Throughout his formative process, he completed his pre-university stage of music, as well as his bachelor’s degree in trumpet at the University of Costa Rica, in addition to this, Morales completed an intensive internship in Italy with Andrea Tofanelli, specifically at the Superior Conservatory of Music O. Vecci-A. Tonelli.

Apart from these pedagogical experiences mentioned, Alexis participated in international festivals and competitions, mostly in Europe and South America, as well as in master classes and seminars around the world. Alexis is also member of the board of directors of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and Latin American  co-director of the Yamaha Brass Academy (YBA).

In his work as a trumpeter, he has participated as a soloist in Europe, Latin America, and North America, as well as a guest trumpeter in orchestras and high-level ensembles around the world, working with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel, Andrés Orozco Estrada, Pablo Heras-Casado, Peter Eötvös, David Afkhan, Plácido Domingo, Irwin Hoffman, among others.

In his role as cultural manager, this young trumpet player is the artistic director of the International Trumpet Festival of Costa Rica, the International Brass Festival “Metallurgy” and the National Trumpet Camp.

Alexis Morales is a Yamaha Artist for Latin America and cultural ambassador of his country, Costa Rica.
