Once again it is my great pleasure to invite you to another ITG conference. This time we head ‘over east’ to Hershey Pennsylvania to hear the “Sweet Sounds of Trumpets”. The 42nd annual conference of the ITG will take place May 30 to June 3 at the beautiful Hershey Lodge, 325 University Drive, Hershey, PA, USA. ITG’s huge team of dedicated members has been working for the best part of two years to put YOUR event together.
An exciting program of artists from around the world has been assembled to delight and inspire. Keeping in touch with our member-centric organisation, many of the events feature you, the members. Opportunities have been steadily developing over the years for members to actively engage in the conference so that now we can list the following events: festival of trumpets, FOUR college level competitions, Youth day and its competitions, the research room, academic presentations, non-pro players reception and special events and college students meet and greet. A great many of these sessions have grown out of requests and suggestions from members and I also encourage everyone to attend the members’ open meeting on June 3 to hear and share similar great ideas with other members and the board of directors.
The trade show will feature rooms packed with all manner of gadgetry and the latest in instrument developments. We all look forward to hearing the first renditions of your favourite excerpts when exhibits open on June 1!
ITG events are not just about the music and new trumpets – we have a lot of fun too. Spending a week with like-minded enthusiasts of the premiere musical instrument on the planet is a once-in-a-lifetime experience…unless you realise you need to come year after year, after year, like so many of us do.
